I've had jury duty this week, and I am lucky enough to get to go today. The way jury deliberations are going, I may be there next week as well! It's been an interesting thing to watch how the "system" works. However, dealing with a jury of "your peers" seems like it is less than interesting. I blame Hollywood for all of the movies and TV programs that glamorize and dramatize court. I have to say, there is a few misguided souls who feel that there is some kind of conspiracy afoot no matter which side of the debate we discuss. It looks like I may never get out of it!
Believe it or not we ended up in a hung jury! It was a pretty open and shut case except for one guy who doesn't speak English well enough to understand what was going on and another guy who has watched too much law and order, or matlock, or columbo, or something! Crazy experience and frustrating considering four days of my life went into it for nothing really.
